Two Worlds Subsector: Two Worlds Subsector has an estimated population in 1202 of approximately 7.32 million, a decline of 97% from its Pre-Collapse population. Its highest population is 7.32 million at Esi-obe, and its highest tech level is 9 also at Esi-obe. Two Worlds Subsector had an estimated population in 1117 of approximately 275 million. Its highest population was 275 million at Esi-obe, and its highest tech level was 12 also at Esi-obe.
The taint of radioactive gases in the atmosphere of Ishirdu (0338) led
to the evolution of the psionically gifted Idu, who live in widely scattered
woodland homes and supply their needs by telekinetic manipulations. The
population of four thousand is optimum to them, and they maintain it carefully.
Their psionic skills shocked the Scouts of the Rydel expeditions, and the Navy
interdicted the world, despite the non-aggressive character of the Irdu. The
Irdu have been entirely left alone by Virus, due to their remote location. No
expeditions have been made to the planet since before the Collapse.
The inhabitants of Esi-obe have maintained a small fleet of Riftjumper
Seeker starships, capable of two consecutive 4-parsec jumps. After an initial
attempt to make contact with spinward states failed to return (the expedition
was destroyed by RQS starships), Esi-obe has not attempted to reestablish
contact with other systems. Their remaining four Riftjumpers are kept in the
best condition possible, however, for an eventual attempt to recontact some of
the trailing states with whom the Esi-obeans traditionally did business.
